Garmin Approach G6 vs. G7 vs. G8
When selecting a golf GPS unit from Garmin, you’ll be given many different options. While the Approach G6, G7 and G8 units all provide golfers with manual pin positioning, more than 30,000 preloaded courses, precise shot distance measurements, touch-tracking and more, the newest models are also loaded with exclusive, new features.
Both the Garmin G7 and G8 offer PlaysLike Distance, Club Suggestion and Big Numbers Mode.
With the new, innovative PlaysLike Distance feature, your accuracy will be improved. The GPS adjusts for both uphill and downhill shots and gives you precise distances to your target.
Big Numbers Mode
The touchscreens are bright, making them easy-to-read even
during the brightest days on the course. The devices make color-coded layup arcs, touch targeting and manual pin placement come alive! For an even clearer view, you can increase the font size for the distances to the front, back and middle of the green.
Both the G7 and G8 units automatically remember how far you hit with each club. Based on the data, they offer recommendations on which club to use based on your previously recorded shot distances. Never second-guess your selection again.
Exclusive to the Garmin G8 – complete with a larger, 3” screen – are new features, including innovative PinPointer technology and built-in WiFi.
Even when you can’t see it, you can locate the center of the green! The unique PinPointer technology points you in the right direction for more accurate blind shots.
With built-in WiFi, the Approach G8 automatically downloads course updates when connected to a WiFi network. These automatic downloads come at no additional charge. Stay up-to-date with the G8!
The G8 boasts the biggest screen of Garmin’s golf GPS units. Paired with big numbers mode and a crisper display, the G8 has a 3” screen gives you the best view while on the course.
