Golf game tracker battle: Arccos vs. GAME GOLF LIVE vs. SkyGolf

It’s a battle of the game trackers! The prevalence of game trackers in the golf word is continuing to rise. Thanks to GPS technology and great new apps, companies like Arccos, GAME GOLF and now SkyGolf are getting you closer to the pin than ever before. Beyond that, golfers can see their games improve more quickly than ever thanks to the comprehensive analysis that these trackers offer.

While Arccos, the new GAME GOLF LIVE and the SkyGolf GameTracker all operate by using tags that attach to the end of your club, they each have distinct and unique features. So, which is the best for you? Let’s break it down.

Arccos – $299.99

Arccos Game TrackerIntegration
There are a few features that make Arccos stand out among the competition. First of all, unlike GameTracker and GAME GOLF LIVE, Arccos doesn’t require a sensor that you must tag your clubs to before each shot. Arccos offers the smoothest, most seamless process of game trackers. The sensors automatically sync with the GPS on your iPhone, so you’re ready to swing away!

Each sensor weighs in at less than 12 grams, so you won’t even notice them when you swing!

During the round
Using your phone’s GPS and Bluetooth, Arccos automatically tracks every single shot you take on its free mobile app. During the round, you’ll see vital stats right away, including average and longest drives distance, greens hit and putts per hole.

The mobile app features an extensive database of course maps for play all across the United States. For courses outside of the U.S., Arccos will still provide comprehensive data analysis on any course.

Your stats and data are automatically synced so you can view them after your round on the free app or online dashboard.

While you can view your shots during the round, Arccos also provides a visual of all of your shots and tons of data after the round. See your trends throughout the day and track your improvement over time. The app will show you distance with each club, greens in regulation (GiR) percentage and so much more!

Beyond measuring stats, Arccos also analyzes them with its Tour Analytics Platform. You will receive analysis of how every shot you took affected your score!

The online dashboard and mobile app are extremely clean and easy to navigate.

Currently, Arccos only works with iOS devices. It also syncs with its new Apple Watch app, so you can see data right on your wrist!

Best feature
Arccos is the easiest-to-use tracker. There’s no tagging up to a sensor. Just play, and you’ll see results on a beautiful, well-designed app.

GAME_GOLF_LIVE_phone__36481.1445973589.400.400GAME GOLF LIVE – $299.99

Unlike Arccos, GAME GOLF LIVE requires that you wear a sensor that attaches to your belt. Before each shot, you tag the sensors at the end of your club to the wearable.

One standout feature of the GAME GOLF LIVE versus the Arccos is how lightweight the tags are. The ultra-lightweight tags add virtually no weight or height to your club. Just tag your club and you’re ready to go!

During the round
With its new and improved mobile app, GAME GOLF LIVE gives golfers real-time tracking and analysis during a round. The device – like Arccos – can replace traditional GPS and rangefinders. Using the free mobile app, golfers can see the distance to the pin and the distance of each shot they took.

Unlike Arccos, which uses the GPS from your phone, the rangefinder is GPS-enabled, which makes it much more accurate. The device will know exactly where you are on the course!

In addition, you can also see comprehensive stats during the round. This data includes average distances with each club, putting data, success rates and more!

After your round, you’ll see a rounds summary so that you can review your round and see key stats. GAME GOLF LIVE syncs with the cloud, so you start reviewing your day immediately.

Using GAME GOLF LIVE’s dashboard on your computer or mobile device, you can see your stats, trends and much more.

GAME GOLF LIVE also seems like, well, a game. The free app rewards you with virtual badges, gives you challenges and allows you to share your stats via social media. Brag about your round online or activate a challenge to compete against yourself. You can also compare your stats to pros or others in the golf world in your handicap bracket.

The app also gives you virtual coaching and lessons to take your game to the next level.

GAME GOLF LIVE works with iOS and Android devices.

Best feature
GAME GOLF upped the ante with GAME GOLF LIVE. Not only can you view stats after your round, you can see key stats and data on the course so you can make adjustments as you go!

SkyGolf_GameTracker_phone__10369.1446668516.400.400SkyGolf GameTracker – $229.95

The cheapest option of the game trackers we’re comparing, the SkyGolf GameTracker offers an extremely accurate GPS for less money.

Like GAME GOLF LIVE, you fit the GameTracker SmartTags to the end of each of your club. The ultra-lightweight tags are durable and help identify each club in your bag. Simply wave your club’s tag in front of the GT1 RFID wearable sensor and then shoot.

The tracker works alongside the free SkyCaddie mobile app. The app serves as a rangefinder and scoring app. While the app is free, it comes with advanced features that you can buy in the app. However, with your GameTracker purchase, you’ll receive a free year of these features, which include:

  • TrueGround Maps
  • Interactive HoleVue in HD
  • Integrated targets – Zoom in closer to see distances to doglegs, hazards and more
  • Details green information
  • Advanced scoring and stat tracking

During the round
Like GAME GOLF LIVE, the GameTracker comes with a wearable that clips onto your belt. However, unlike Arccos, the wearable is its own GPS unit. The GameTracker is more than 300 percent more accurate than a phone GPS.

The SkyGolf GT1 replaces your phone’s location services with its powerful GPS engine and antenna. Be confident in the distance measurements you’re receiving! SkyGolf also uses TrueGround course maps. Experts have verified courses on the ground, so SkyGolf can boast having the most trusted rangefinder in the industry.

The app will get you closer to the pin as you view detailed course maps, detailed green maps and more!

Like the other game trackers, Sky Caddie’s version syncs your data to the cloud. All of your performances are wirelessly uploaded to you’re my 360 personal performance locker within the SkyGolf 360 Cloud. You can view your data right from your computer or mobile device.

You’ll receive terrific insight from comprehensive stats, including fairways hit, greens in regulation, putts per hole and more!

SkyCaddie’s analysis tools will also let you look at your strengths and weaknesses after a round.

From the app, you can share scores with other SkyCaddie users on the app’s newsfeed. The app also allows you to book tee times at various public and private courses.

GameTracker works with iOS and Android devices.

Best feature
GameTracker is an extremely accurate device, thanks to its GT1 sensor. What’s more important than accuracy? Plus, it’s a cheaper price point, making it a great option. However, after your year-subscription is up, you would need to purchase SkyCaddie’s advanced features.

Overall, as you can see, there are positives and negatives to each system. As a whole, we recommend adding a game tracker to your arsenal if you’re looking to improve your game over the course of a season.

You can check them all out below. As always, if you have any questions, you can email us at or give us a call at (888)-738-5527. Each product sold through comes with a 60-Day Buy & Try Policy, so you can test out a tracker and see if it’s the best fit for you!

Game Golf vs. Arccos: Golf Stats for Everyone

GAME GOLF and Arccos are two of the top tracking systems available in the golf industry. While similar in style, comparatively, the two systems have many differences. Both have lightweight sensors that attach on the end of golfers’ clubs and offer accurate feedback after a round. But beyond that, which gadget is best for you?

We break it down into various categories:

Arccos – If you have an Android device, you’re out of luck (for now). Currently Arccos only works with iPhones. The sensors pair with a free app.

GAME GOLF – GAME GOLF is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Like Arccos, GAME GOLF pairs the sensors with a free app, which is available on both the App Store and Google Play.

Game Golf Arccos

Arccos – The gadget uses Bluetooth technology to link its sensors to your iPhone. Once you’re synced up, you’re automatically ready to go. The sensors weigh less than 12 grams each, so you won’t even notice them on the end of your club.

GAME GOLF – GAME GOLF has the most lightweight sensors, which attach to the end of a club, on the market. They weigh in at just 1.5 grams each – You’ll honestly never feel them! However, GAME GOLF requires you to tap a sensor to a wearable device that easily clips on your belt. Tap up, then go! That’s it.

See Data and Analysis

Arccos – The feature that’s the biggest difference-maker is that Arccos is also a fully functional GPS that operates through your phone. As soon as you swing, you’ll get comprehensive feedback on each shot right away that you can view on your iPhone.

Each shot you take is tracked on the app, so you’ll know important stats, such as average and longest drives, club use, greens hit and putts per hole right away.

Arccos’ app features all U.S. course maps, and for courses outside the U.S., Arccos will still provide you with data analysis on any course.

On its beautiful mobile app, you can view in-depth stats either during a round or after you’re finished. See your distance with each club, GiR percentage and more right on your iOS device.

Arccos Game Golf

Beyond just showing your stats, Arccos offers analysis of the numbers. Using its Tour Analytics Platform, you’ll receive analysis that shows you how every single shot you’ve taken has affected your game.

GAME GOLF – GAME GOLF also offers comprehensive data, but it only does so after the round. Once you’re finished golfing, you’ll see everything you did on the course on the app. See your fairway accuracy, putts per hole, GIR and more! The detailed statistics and trends can be viewed online on a map interface, so that you know how to improve your game.

You can also view scorecards, stat graphs and charts, which are automatically generated as you play or upload games.

Arccos – The detailed analysis and stats will completely transform your game. All of the numbers go right to your phone and are available on the beautifully designed mobile app.

Also, as you play, Arccos calculates your bag and gives you suggestions to immediately help you improve.

GAME GOLF – With its comprehensive analysis, you can compare your current game and statistics to old ones. The platform showcases trends and helps educate you on how to improve you game. If it’s an overall adjustment or just a precise tweak, you’ll be educated on how to become a better golfer.

What does the slope feature do? Golf rangefinder features explained

Today’s golfers have so much technology at their disposal that it can sometimes get in the way of their performance.

Fumbling with gadgets, syncing with phones, and tapping screens is the last thing you or you playing partners want to deal with during a round. Sometimes, it’s best to keep it simple and today’s gear spotlight focuses on just that. The very easy to use (one button in fact) Bushnell v3 Laser Rangefinder Standard Edition and the v3 Slope Edition.

When planning your on course strategy, there is no tool more accurate than a laser rangefinder. There are a few necessary criteria for rangefinders accuracy, performance, value and design – and the Bushnell Golf Series meets and excels in all of those categories.

The Tour v3 Patriot Pack Laser Rangefinder from Bushnell Golf offers all of these features and much more! The v3 will help you approach your game with confidence. Its PinSeeker with JOLT Technology helps you hone in on your shot, and then vibrates to ensure you’re locked in.

Bushnell Tour v3 Golf Laser Rangefinder

Available in both a slope edition and standard version, the v3 rangefinder is a perfect gadget for both casual and serious golfers.

So, which one is for you? To answer that, we have to explain what the slope feature means. The most obvious difference between the slope and standard version is that the slope edition measures distance and elevation and is not legal for tournament play (or technically any round that counts towards a USGA handicap). The USGA Handicap system requires that a laser rangefinder measure only distance.

However, if you’re looking to improve your golf game, plan out distances during practice rounds or if you play casual rounds where handicap doesn’t matter, the Slope Edition is the rangefinder for you. We find a lot of caddies and coaches purchasing the slope enabled units for use in practice rounds and the purposes of plotting out yardage books.

As always, please contact us for any additional information that could help your purchasing decision. Also, any purchase through is eligible for our 60-day Buy and Try return policy – so you’ll never get stuck with a product that’s not right for you.

Slope Measurement Feature

While all rangefinders will help you measure the distance to the pin, the slope edition takes it one step further by giving you elevation adjusted distances to the hole. Instead of just a straight line distance to a target it instantly calculates what the uphill or downhill position means in terms of yards/meters.

For example, when you measure your shot with a standard rangefinder, it will just give you a reading of the distance to the hole. On the other hand, the slope takes the distance that adds or subtracts from the reading based on the elevation change to that hole. The Tour v3 Slope Edition will show you both the PlaysLike distance and the line of sight distance.

The slope edition takes the guessing out of your golf game! You won’t have to try to eyeball or estimate the yardage differences caused by uphill or downhill shots.

Another benefit of the slope edition is that it can be used to map out courses. Knowing the elevation and slopes of a course will benefit you and help you accurately learn the course before ever teeing off.

Standard and slope editions

The standard version solely measures distance, so it’s legal for tournament play. Both the standard and slope versions are pinpoint accurate rangefinders that lock you into your target. Its revolutionary PinSeeker with JOLT Technology tool provides you with short vibrating bursts once you’re locked in. Once you’re locked in, you’ll feel it!

Bushnell Tour v3 Golf Laser Rangefinder

Both editions of the v3 feature 5x magnification, giving you a close view of your target, and are guaranteed accurate within one yard.

Another feature that makes the Bushnell Golf Tour v3 stand out is its light and compact design and water resistant housing. The lenses are recessed into the unit assuring that even your sloppiest playing partner will have a hard time smudging the optics and causing you added aggravation.

A great value, the rangefinder is an affordable yet extremely accurate option. Both of the v3’s come with a rubber protective skin that helps shield rain, weather, scratches and more. It also comes with a carrying case and a CR2 battery.
